Community Ticket Scheme

The Illawarra Folk Festival in January isn’t just about great music and good times. Charitable organisations and Illawarra community groups and schools can also use the festival as a fund-raiser.

Charitable organisations can register for the Festival Pass Selling Incentive Scheme to earn $40 for every adult four-day pass their supporters buy, $20 for every adult day pass (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) and $10 for each adult evening pass (Friday/Saturday).

Get Involved!

We are always seeking further partnerships with community and charity organisations as well to bolster our volunteer ranks. There are financial and social benefits for these organisations to be involved. So, if you are interested in helping us keep this great festival alive then please contact us!

In order to increase attendance at the Festival and to assist local community groups, schools, charities and non-profit organisations, organisations that are approved as an Illawarra Folk Festival Community Partner can obtain a commission of $40 per Adult Festival 4 Day Pass or 2 Day Adult Pass, $20 per Adult Day Pass (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) and $10 for Adult Evening Pass (Friday/Saturday) from sales generated by their promotional effort.

This is done by obtaining a Promo Code from the Festival to purchase passes from the Festival online buying system. The buyer still purchases Festival Passes at the normal rate but the commission amount goes to the organisation.

The success of the scheme depends upon the energy and commitment of the organisation through its promotion to its networks. The festival provides graphic artwork and resources such as posters, e-posters and email content to assist.

How To Apply

The role of the organisation is to promote the scheme and the festival to its members, patrons and supporters and ask them to purchase online with the Promo Code by midnight 21 January 2018.  The festival treasurer will then do a reconciliation with the sales to midnight 21 January 2018 and provide a direct deposit into their account after the festival. There will be a presentation of participation to the organisation at the Thursday night (18 January 2018) Opening Concert at the Bulli Showground.

Thursday Charity Day

Since 2001 the Illawarra Folk Festival has provided charity / non-profit organisations the opportunity to receive the benefits of the official opening day, Thursday, of the Illawarra Folk Festival.  This is achieved by the sharing of the entry cost to the festival on Thursday and the proceeds of a raffle to two nominated charities. The opening day includes a number of concerts from Midday to Midnight with festival artists.  It’s a great opportunity for folks who’ve not tasted the joy of a folk festival to get a sample for a mere $30 while supporting worthwhile charities.  You can purchase tickets at the gate or online from: https://www.illawarrafolkfestival.com.au/buy-tickets
